As a practice manager, office manager, or hospital administrator, do you ever wonder if your compensation and benefits are similar to that of your colleagues? The results of a recent survey can tell you.
The Veterinary Hospital Managers Association (VHMA) recently released the results of its 2015 Compensation and Benefits Survey. Overall, the results show an improvement from the 2013 survey that came on the heels of the recession.
Survey highlights, reported by the Nebraska Veterinary Medical Association, include:
- Practice managers’ salaries increased by six percent and hospital administrators’ salaries by eight percent
- Those with post-graduate degrees or a Certified Veterinary Practice Manager (CVPM) made higher salaries
- Location, type of practice, and number of staff members managed impacts compensation
- Seniority plays a minor role in compensation
- All manager groups received an average of three weeks’ vacation annually
The 2015 survey was distributed to 2,729 VMHMA and Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Society members; 324 managers responded.
