A Southern Californian by birth, Dr. Lynn McEwan graduated with High Honors from the prestigious University of California, Davis School of Veterinary Medicine in 1976. Dr. McEwan served for 5 years as a Captain in the US Army Veterinary Corps. Three of those years were spent in Belgium as the NATO veterinarian. Dr. McEwan took over Palmdale Veterinary Hospital in 1984. Since then, the hospital has been doubled in size and upgraded to be an Accredited Hospital of the American Animal Hospital Association, one of only 2 animal hospitals in the Antelope Valley achieving that distinction.

For over 25 years, Dr. McEwan has appeared on local and national television shows discussing our pets and their health concerns. Besides being local Time Warner Cable’s “Resident Veterinarian,” he has appeared on Animal Court with Judge Wapner, the Dog Whisperer with Cesar Millan, and on A&E’s Animal Hoarders.

Although dogs and cats were his first love, Dr. McEwan has developed special interests and skills with birds, reptiles and pocket pets. He is a member of the Association of Avian Veterinarians, and various local, state and national Veterinary Associations. Advances in veterinary medicine continue to stimulate his interests and broaden his years of experience. He does advanced dentistry and is a member of the American Veterinary Dental Society.

Dr. McEwan is active in his Church, and his hobbies include computers, vegetable gardening and making fine pens on lathes, which he has shown in the Antelope Valley Fair. He enjoys vocal music and has sung for many years with his wife in a well-known choir, the Southern California Mormon Choir, and has even sung with the Boston Pops Orchestra!

From being a skilled LASER and orthopedic surgeon to challenging internal medicine cases, Dr. McEwan has an innate talent that clients respect and appreciate. He appreciates having you as one of his clients and makes decisions for your pet as though it was one of his own.
