There’s nothing worse than being a social creature and being alone. But for rabbits, a potential new trend may give them some relief.
The Animal Care Centers of N.Y.C. shelter now offers “speed dating” for rabbits to help their owners help them find a companion for the lonely hours when no one is home, reported The New York Times on Feb. 5.
Matchmaker Amy Odum, a long-time volunteer at the shelter, referees the meetings, which occur in widowless cinder block areas with only a rectangle of turf, and liter and leash boxes. “If they can’t work out who is dominant,” Odum told the New York Times, “they can fight like tigers.”
And that does not make for an easy union, rabbit or otherwise.
Happy Easter!
